Oakdene Bed & Breakfast, Bowness-on-Windermere Terms & Conditions

Thank you for choosing to book your stay at Oakdene Bed & Breakfast. We look forward to welcoming you. When you make this booking you are entering into an agreement with us. Please read our terms and conditions of booking below.                    
                    
Prices: The price includes accommodation plus Breakfast as indicated. Unless clearly stated on the booking form all extras such as extra mattress etc for children, additional meals, telephone, drinks etc are additional. We accept the following forms of payment: cash, cheque with bankers card, debit cards, credit cards.                                        
                    
Pets: Because we want all of our guests to relax and enjoy their stay, we will not accept bookings with pets of any kind.                     
                    
Deposit: For Bookings made more than 7 days in advance of arrival a deposit equal to first night will be taken from your credit/debit card at the time of booking with the balance payable 7 days prior to your stay.  You will receive an email requesting payment 10 days before your stay.  Payment in full will be required if the booking is made within 7 days of arrival. Once we are in receipt of your payment details we will send you an email confirming the booking and letting you know what (if any) the outstanding balance is and when the payment is due.                     
                    
Cancellation and Insurance: Once you have booked your stay, our agreement is a legal contract and any deposit you may have paid is non-refundable. If you need to cancel please contact us immediately. For cancellations made up to 7 days before your booking you will not be liable for the remaining balance. For cancellations made after this time you will be liable for the total amount of the stay, or by failing to take up the booking without cancelling you will be liable for the total amount of the stay. For this reason you may wish to take out cancellation insurance, which is inexpensive and can be obtained from any good broker.                     
                    
Non-availability: We would only cancel your booking if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would attempt to offer you alternative accommodation, however if this was not possible, or unacceptable to you, then we would refund all monies paid by you. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.                    
                    
Arrival: Your accommodation will be available to you from 4.00 pm on the day of arrival.  Please let us know if you plan to arrive after 6:00 pm.                    
                    
Departure: Please be ready to leave your accommodation by 10:00 am on the day of departure.  Please note that a late departure may be available subject to a £10 surcharge. Please ask for details upon your arrival. Your bill for any extras or services taken during your stay is payable on departure in cash.                    
                    
Breakfast Times: Breakfast is served in the dining room between 8:30 am and 9:30 am.
                    
Car Parking: Use of the Car park is free, however we only have enough spaces for 1 car per room.  There is additional street parking available close by if you require it.                    
                    
No Smoking Policy:  We are an entirely NON SMOKING establishment and smoking is NOT PERMITTED anywhere within the building. Any Guests causing us suspicion of smoking in their rooms will be asked to leave and the booking will be cancelled with all charges due plus a room cleaning/loss of revenue charge of £100 (a room that smells of smoke may not be able to be re-let until the smell is cleared).  If you smoke in the room and we do not identify it until you have checked out, your card details will be charged with the additional charges as detailed above.  We do not tolerate any Smokers who continually leave the building at unsociable hours disturbing other guests in the process.               
                    
Damages and Breakages: Please take care with our accommodation. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages which you cause to the accommodation or its contents. Please report these as soon as they occur. We do not normally charge for minor accidental breakages, but we may send you an invoice for repair or making good if the damage or breakage is significant, and we will make an additional charge of £50.00 if you did not report this.                    
                    
Liability: We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.                    
                    
Data Protection: Any data gathered during the course of this booking may be held on computer. We respect your privacy and any information held will only be used for payment processing, contact purpose and identification on arrival. Your information will never knowingly be passed on to a third party.                     
                    
Housekeeping: We would ask guests to kindly treat our rooms with the respect and tidiness that they would give to their own house, guests leaving their room in an unfit, unfair or overly untidy state will be charged an extra housekeeping fee of £15.
